About HYSI

What is HYSI?

HYSI is a mobile app for keeping track of the things in your home: what you have, where it is, what it cost and where the receipt is. You create your places, such as rooms, cupboards, shelves and boxes, and add your things with a photo. When you wonder where something is, you type a few letters and see exactly where it is. You can share the overview with your household, make an insurance report and sell what you no longer need on Hysi Loppis.

Who is HYSI for?

Individuals and households with things spread around the storage room, garage, attic, basement and cabin. It works just as well for one person as for families, couples and shared homes. It is not made for business inventory.

Is HYSI free?

Yes, HYSI is free to use today. If paid features come, you will be told in the app in advance, and no payment happens unless you choose it yourself.

Where can I download HYSI?

HYSI is not in the App Store or Google Play yet. The app is being tested on iPhone, and the store links will be on www.hysi.app when it is ready.

Is HYSI available on Android?

Not yet. HYSI is made for iPhone first. An Android version is planned.

Which languages is HYSI available in?

Ten: Norwegian (Bokmål), English, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, German, French, Spanish and Polish. The app follows your phone's language, and you can choose another in the app.

Who is behind HYSI?

HYSI is provided by Hysi Premer, a Norwegian sole proprietorship in Oslo, organisation number 937 439 725.

Using HYSI

How do I add a lot of things quickly?

With the scanner. Tap «+», point the camera at your things and tap the ones you want. HYSI cuts out each item and adds it to a list while the camera keeps going. Then you go through the list and add the things. The scanner needs iOS 17 or later; on older phones you add things with one photo and a name.

Does HYSI work offline?

Mostly, yes. You need a connection the first time you sign in, and for Loppis, AI and the insurance report. Otherwise your changes are saved on the phone and synced when you are back online.

Can the whole family share the same overview?

Yes. You invite the people you live with to your household by e-mail and choose a role: owner, administrator, member or guest. Everyone sees the same places and things, but guests do not see prices and receipts.

What are the QR labels?

Small labels you put on boxes, crates and shelves. When you scan a label with HYSI, the place opens with what is in it, so you can see what is in a box without opening it. You can print them on ordinary label sheets or on a label printer.

Can HYSI help me make an insurance claim?

Yes. You make an insurance report as a PDF with your things, photos, prices and receipts, for the whole household, one place or only what was lost or damaged. You can also add what happened, a status for each item and photos of the damage. What you write about the damage is not stored by HYSI. Your insurer decides what it accepts as proof.

Do I have to use AI?

No. AI is off until you turn it on, and HYSI works fully without it. If you turn it on, you can get suggested names for things, receipt reading, and text and a price when you sell several things together. Nothing is added or published until you approve it. The suggestions are made by OpenAI, and you can withdraw your consent in the app at any time.

Hysi Loppis

What is Hysi Loppis?

Hysi Loppis lets you sell or give away things you already have in HYSI. You create your own flea market page on hysi.app, price your things and publish. Photos, titles and descriptions come from the things themselves. Buyers find your page through the link you share or by searching at hysi.app/loppis, and message you in the app. Loppis is available in Norway.

Does it cost anything to sell on Hysi Loppis?

No, not today. HYSI does not take payments and is not a party to the sale. Buyer and seller agree on payment, pickup and shipping themselves.

Can I browse Loppis without an account?

Yes. The front page, the market, the flea market pages and the items can be viewed in a browser without an account. To message a seller you need the HYSI app and an account.

Privacy and security

Where is my data stored?

The server is in Norway, at Deploi AS. Photos, receipts and backups are stored with Cloudflare with data storage in the EU. Your phone keeps an encrypted copy so the app works offline.

Is my data safe?

The copy on your phone is encrypted, and traffic to the server is encrypted. Only your household sees your inventory, and photos are stripped of location before they are uploaded. Backups are encrypted before they leave the server. With the app lock, Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode is needed to open HYSI. HYSI is not end-to-end encrypted, because the server has to sync and search.

Does HYSI sell data or show ads?

No. HYSI sells no data, shows no ads and does not track you for marketing. The app has no analytics tools.

Account and data

Can I export my data?

Yes. Under «Profile › Export everything» you can make a spreadsheet (CSV), JSON, a full copy with photos and receipts by e-mail, and an insurance report as a PDF.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, under «Profile › Delete all data». Your account and the households only you use are deleted for good, and backups roll out within 35 days.

How do I contact you?

Write to post@hysi.app, or use «Contact us» under «Profile» in the app.
